Tori would say that her biggest, most crippling phobia is her fear of being naked. However, the truth is that her biggest phobia is intimacy and self worth. It has a lot to do with self esteem. She craves approval and even love but she's afraid that she's not going to measure up. That the closer someone gets, the faster they will realize they can do better. It's certainly not a new fear. It's one she's struggled with her whole life.

At first, joining the Morituri made her feel like she was special. Like maybe she wasn't so wrong or bad. Of the thousands, millions, who tested, it was her DNA that was chosen. Just that one affirmation set in motion this flurry of making friends, even dating which she NEVER did. She genuinely thought that she was getting better. Walls started coming down. She lost her virginity. She even fell in love. She'd never been happier or more terrified in her life because she'd never had so much to lose before.

And lose, she did.

Now, she's not just guarded but generally pessimistic with a paranoid view of the world and relationships. The world isn't just a scary place where bad things happen anymore. Now she genuinely believes that people are out to get her. That even fate wants to see her suffer and she fears that it really is because she is worth less than everyone else. Though some of this is due to the spell she is under. The mages she works for decided that their reality show needed more drama so all the Morituri are beginning to lose it. Tori is just spiraling that drain a little faster than the others.
