MUSE REVIVAL Where writers can reconnect with their muses  Do you miss muse writing? Are you stuck in a writing rut? Lacking inspiration? Sick of repetitive RP scenes? Love your character and fandom, but RP not inspiring you anymore? Or are you looking for ideas to challenge your skills as a writer? Do you want to branch out of RP and explore your fandom love more through writing? Are you a fanfic writer who just wants something a little different to sink your teeth into? In the past, "muse writing" was a writing concept where people could create a character, whether it be canon or original - a "muse" - and select prompts from muse communities to write short scenes based on their character's canon, RP, backstory, head-canon, etc. The writing world was your oyster. Over the time, muse writing has sadly died off in favour of free-form RP, but there is no doubt about it that muse writers still exist out there and miss that form of writing. Or perhaps you're an just an RP'er and now looking to explore the Olde Worlde of Muse Writing. Muse Revival is about simply that - reviving your muse. It is all of the above, and more. It is here for writing inspiration in whatever form you wish to choose.We will be a PROMPT-BASED COMMUNITY. That is, each week, there will be six sections of a variety of prompts posted to select from. You can complete as many or as few as you wish, and you can interpret the prompt in anyway you as a writer are inspired to do so. All prompts except the OOC option are written in-character, and posted from your character journal. The prompts may be generic or we may have theme weeks, and will be the following: (1) Muse/Fanfic prompt Fill these prompts by writing muse scenes, which are scenes written in either third person narrative style or first person. (2) First-Person/Blog/Diary prompts These are prompts for writing pieces of any length in first person, be it a blog entry, diary entry, or your muse musing in First Person. No restrictions other than it being a challenge for First Person style rather than narrative style. (3) Drabble prompt For our community, drabbles are short snippet scenes from 100-300 words. Anymore, they are not considered a drabble. Keeping it short is your challenge, and these fills can be in first or third person. (4) Ten things prompt Lists used to be another old popular form of muse writing, so we are reviving that here too. These prompts will ask you for ten specific things, you list them in relation to your character. (5) Picture prompts Picture prompts can be of anything, and you can interpret them anyway you like for inspiration in writing your muse prompt. For example, maybe just a drabble, a list, an OOC commentary about your muse, a serious of scenes. (6) Misc/Random prompt These could be anything from a picture, five-times scenarios, fun quizzes, games... anything goes. All Prompt Posts can be found HERE. In addition, we have WORD OF THE DAY & QUOTE OF THE DAY prompts. Basically, it's exactly as it sounds. Mod availability permitting, each day we will post a word of the day and a quote of the day that will act as an open prompt. You can respond to this in any way it may inspire you, whether it be a drabble, a narrative prompt, a blog/diary, or anything else. There's no restrictions, just that it be a piece of writing stemming from your muse. We have added new tags of [prompt] word of the day and [prompt] quote of the day for you to use if you post any pieces for these prompts. Finally, we have ongoing DRABBLE CHALLENGES. Traditionally, drabbles should be 100 words exactly to act as snapshots of your muse's life and experiences, and there therein is the challenge. As we progress, fandom tags for most MAJOR fandoms will be added for ease of you finding prompt fills form fandoms you enjoy. This will be a WIP and mods will add fandom tags as prompts from those fandoms are posted. There will also be a tag for each form of prompt above. Please tag each post with both of these. For ease of understanding who your character is and where they come from, please add a single line at the bottom of all prompts with 1) Character Name, 2) Fandom, and 3) Whether they are canon or original character. This will also help as add the fandom tags over time. You are welcome to cross-post to our community and also to your journal. We even encourage it for your own archive of your work. Members are welcome to suggest prompts or theme weeks. To do so, please drop us a line at our CONTACT POST. For the sake of Reading Pages, please cut all prompts after the first or second paragraph, depending on the length of the paragraphs. If the paragraphs are longer, please cut after the first.. Any wank, flaming, or godmodding between muses or muns is strictly unacceptable. Don't do it. No one likes being a victim of it, and personal issue can be taken to private messaging.
