FAILURE

There weren’t any positive thoughts going through Noah’s mind right now. It was easy to let the notion of failure take over everything when you were feeling like you were so rock bottom, you couldn’t make it up again. Here he was, restrained in a hospital bed because he was classified as violence and suicidal. The room was bleak, no windows, no pictures on the walls – everything that could be classified as something he could use for self harm was eradicated.

Only now, he was too sick to fight or be violent. His chest was painful from coughing and throwing up, he couldn’t move even if he wanted to. He felt like a vegetable, and he felt like it was never going to stop. When he cried now, he barely noticed the tears they came so easily. This time, he was curled up on his side, arms wrapped around a little plush dragon that was a gift from Euan’s son, Ciaran. It was the only thing in the world Noah owned anymore, and at that moment, it was a priceless treasure for him where otherwise felt like he as losing his mind. Once again, more tears came and more painful nausea was engulfing him to join forces with the loneliness that was forever eating away inside him.
