Ian was the third-born of six children to the Gallagher clan, so he was used to growing up around kids. He liked kids, and maybe even wanted some of his own some day (though since the bipolar bullshit, he was having second thoughts because of crap genetics).

With Mickey becoming a father, Ian would be lying to himself if he didn’t admit he had been entertaining thoughts of maybe having an input into raising Mickey’s baby son together. He even tried to coax Mickey into being a more active father, but to no avail. Nothing more than empty fantasies really.
