095.5 - Ten Things I Love About My Relationship

1. I don't have to hide who am. Sam knows the absolute worst of what I have done and still loves me anyway.
2. We are different but complementary.
3. We are passionate. Being without each other physically hurts and it's not one sided. He fell apart just as badly without me as I did without him.
4. Sam has a way of making every holiday special and about family.
5. He is my family and I am his.
6. We do get jealous over each other but not to the point that we can't joke about epic bromances and running off to Vegas for a quickie wedding with my closest girlfriend.
7. That even though I've never really had a desire to have children and Sam won't push if that never changes, he said that he would be down with starting a family with me.
8. Breakfast in bed is not uncommon in our house and Sam makes a mean cup of coffee.
9. We actively try to help each other with our problems or overcoming fears.
10. The sex. I either had to mention it first or save the best for last though I'm thinking now that it should have been mentioned more than once. I have spent more than half of my life cultivating certain skills but Sam is by far the most selfless lover I have ever had. He has spent endless hours, whole weekends, just exploring me until he learned every moan and whimper, every spot and kink that I have. Well, almost every kink. I like to think there is still a little mystery left to solve but still. His devotion to learning everything about me inspired me to want to do the same thing back. Now, after almost a year, we know each other so well that the sex is phenomenal. Even better than the excitement of when it was new.

I don't want a small wedding and that takes time to plan. Plus, late spring is perfect weather wise. Not as rainy. Not yet hot. The only other time of year that would be that ideal would be mid to late September. But 6.11.16 would look a hell of a lot better on invitations than 9.19.15.

Self service is fine, so is teasing as long as it stays above the clothes. The first to either beg or initiate more loses.

That's my point. There is no Saturday in September with symmetry. It would just be reasonably easy to remember.

We don't necessarily need symmetry. I just liked that it was symmetrical.

...September 19th isn't just a Saturday. It's the day we met. It's also the last day my heart belonged to myself. The 20th is when I showed up at your house. We kissed and I knew you were rolled and what you were feeling was an illusion but I fell for you anyway. I guess I just couldn't resist those beautiful eyes. I wanted them to look at me like that for real.

When was it real for you? When did you know that it wasn't just my power but me you wanted?

It is but that's in less than 3 months or than a year depending on how you look at it.

Think it was the first time that I really knew you had feelings about me. Real, deep feelings.

[She frowns.] You fell for me because you knew I had feelings for you?

Wait...no. That's not how I meant that...I mean it felt real. Like really, real when we talked that day. No bullshit. Just real. Things had been confusing for me, you know? It was just different that day. Like one of those eye opening kind of days.

[She seems to relax a little bit.] Who knew stalking would be so rewarding.

Just have to stalk the right person.

You don't have any regrets, right?

My only regrets about us have to do with any time I doubted you. Or what we had. Any time you walked away and I didn't follow. The times you needed me to reassure you and I didn't. I regret not being able to get my shit together and screwing things up between us. Any time I made you cry...or sent you off on a drinking bender that had nothing to do with having fun.

They can't all be pork chops or we wouldn't have hotdogs. [A little smile forms.] Sorry. I've been watching a lot of cartoons.

I like hotdogs. [Sam steps closer, a finger tip reaching out to trace her collar bone.] I love you, not a damn thing about that I regret.

[Her breathing grows shallow and her eyes flutter closed as she focuses on that feather light touch for a moment.] It was worth it. [She opens her eyes.] Every fight, every second apart, every tear that got us to this moment was worth it.
