Regret
Finlay decided at some point that locking himself in his bedroom with his music up as loud as he could push it without having a noise complaint filed by the neighbours was the best way to handle shit right now. Being snowed in wasn't helping at all. No one could accuse him of not being a typical teenager, because that's exactly what he was. By this point, all things considered, he was epically regretting ever going to that New Year's party back home. It had ruined everything.
Once again, Africa by Toto was his choice and he had it up loud enough to try to drown the world out for awhile. But as much as he wanted to lock himself away in there forever, he was still human. Nature soon called and he was forced to depart the confines of his new bedroom to go to the bathroom with the playlist switching to Hold the Line. He turned the music down a little in case it was going to blast through the apartment and piss the whole floor of the apartment block off.
Getting out into the hall, there was another abrupt wave of dizziness, completely without warning this time. He lost his balance and toppled backwards, falling to the floor with a thud. He hadn't tripped, he hadn't done anything. It was just like gravity suddenly betrayed him. His dad must have heard the thump, because when Fin looked up, his dad was standing over him. After spending hours in his room with the door shut and the music up, this was happening. His "I'm not on drugs!" protests were beginning to look more and more stupid. He was starting to realise he just couldn't catch a friggen trick right now.
