Nick drinks a lot of coffee. Actually, to say he drinks a lot of it would be quite an understatement. He drinks a lot of other things too, but coffee is what gets him through the day, through the night, through times when he does everything he can to stay awake.

Coffee is often a meal substitute for him too. Coffee and cigarettes. He often thinks it's a good thing he wants to be a model, because at least he can blame his diet on that, instead of the lack of money in his pockets on most days. The other days... he doesn't think about that. He just downs more coffee.

Since coming to New York City, he's collected more diner locations than anything else. They're warm, open all through the night and most serve unlimited amounts of coffee. It may not be the best kind, but he sure as fuck isn't picky. It's a safe haven when he has nowhere else to go. They're safe. Much safer than the ones back home. And so coffee to him is a safe haven too. Something he can rely on, because he sure as hell doesn't have much else.

Nick realizes that when coffee is the best thing he can rely on, he really needs to go out there and connect with something else.
