Can I address a giant elephant in the room?

As long as it's not a reference to the fact I've missed my early morning gym sessions since I've been sharing a bed with you, sure thing.

Even if it was, you would be the most sexiest elephant to ever roam the earth. But in all seriousness, when you left me a voicemail, you said "I love you" and I just wasn't sure if it was a slip I should pretend I didn't hear...

It wasn't a slip or an accident. Too much too soon?

No, it's not like we just started dating a few days ago. It was nice. You keep making me smile, even on the days I don't feel like I can.

[moneyfornothing]

The day we fly out for Australia is actually our 2 month anniversary. Should we celebrate when we get there? You make me smile too. For a long time there, I didn't remember how.

[arrecho]

So, apparently time really does fly when you're having fun. I think we should definitely celebrate. At least, once we don't feel half dead from jetlag. Or are you immune to that with all the travel you do? Because of your mom?

I know, right? I wish I was immune. This is why I always allow a good few days in any given place before the event. Yes, because of Mum. It took me an incredible amount of time to even stop feeling in shock. I could barely function.

So, we crash, and then enjoy the celebration. How many times have you been to Australia now? I truly understand that storm of emotions from when I lost Dad. It's why I never wanted to push you into details, because it's unbelievably hard to talk about.

[moneyfornothing]

Too many to count. I visited all our sites a lot when we were in the developing stages. You'll love it. It's okay. I can talk about it with you. I just can't promise I'll do it without crying. It's still quite fresh, even though time has passed.

I want to add a #11 to this list. I love how easy you are to talk to. About anything and everything.

Talking is a two-way street. You're very easy to talk to too. I have to say, there's things I've talked out with you that I haven't wanted to even touch on in a long time.

There is something else I need to talk to you about, but I haven't really known how to bring the subject up.

Your ex?

That obvious, huh?

Not in a sense that I think you've been avoiding the subject purposefully. Just more like it's a necessary evil you've been putting off because it's painful.

[arrecho]

I told you what happened with him, and why it ended. It's just not as easy as that. He's Destina's best friend... or was, rather.

[moneyfornothing]

Wait. Cole's your ex? Cole Carrington? He's the guy that hit you?

Well, this must be what homicidal feels like.

[arrecho]

He was completely trashed, it was a messy situation. I'm not making excuses for him. There's no one more angry at him than I am... and have been. He kicked me when I was down, and there wasn't any going back from that. But I also know addiction is an illness and as angry as I was, I didn't want him to destroy himself.

You have a big heart. People with big hearts mean there is more room in their heart for people to hurt them. Which is okay, that's not a bad trait. As much as I wish I could be a prick about this, my own mum destroyed herself because she was ill... so I understand. You want to help him.

Maybe. I don't know. I have mixed feelings. But I did go and see him in rehab.
