097.5. Ten Things

Ten early memories of someone you love

1. Regret, regret and more regret... albeit, bittersweet
2. Extensive urges to issue grievous bodily harm via bitchslaps
3. Ripped jeans and cowboy boots
4. Bitchslap urges turning into urges to thump him
5. Sex too incredible for its own good
6. Desire to slam said cock into a door
7. Letting him be the seed of my self-doubt
8. He was the only person who could ever drive me crazy
9. Wondering if it was petty to send him a bill for a pregnancy test and abortion
10. Moot pointing all of the above when we procreated

It isn't. I wish you had, but you did what you thought was best, and ultimately, your goal was to protect him, not to keep from hurting my feelings. If you put me before him in anyway, you wouldn't be a great mom. I know we're not exactly rocking it yet, but I think we can get things on a good track.

From what I understand, that's what makes a good parent.

Jeez, that would've been crazy. We don't have many twins in my family, but I know you and Luci are twins.

Thank fuck he wasn't a twin, then. I'm glad you guys made it.

I don't know how they do it, either. Then again, I'm still learning how you do it with one.

I guess learning how to be a parent never really stops.

I've seen them but I get the feeling they don't teach much that you don't have to really learn on the job anyway.

Seriously. I know there are some of those classes that have benefits, but they don't teach you about your own kid and their specific needs. It's more generic than that, and there's nothing generic about kids.

I have a mom who did her best... My dad not so much, but I think I have some pretty good parenting examples to learn from around me.

Most of what I want to learn, no one can teach me but Benny. The things that make him happy. How he likes to be snuggled. Those kinds of things. But I think Mark and some of the other guys just set a good dad example in general, if that makes sense.

He came by that honestly... Couple of attorneys for parents, he didn't have a chance in hell of trusting anyone. I know it'll take time and work. I'm not afraid of that.
