026.3. Drabble prompt
Well, that wasn't supposed to happen.
Patrick had run his proposition over and over in his head many times before he plucked up the courage to approach his husband with it. Each and every time, it had come out way more classily and effective than it actually had by the time the words made it out of his mouth. He never meant to just throw the desire in Aiden’s face and run. He had been going to just suggest it casually to him, and suggest they both take a little time to consider it, but as he had perched there on the edge of Aiden’s desk, breaking out in a small sweat of anticipation with his heart thumping wildly in his chest, it had hit him like a tonne of bricks just how damn much he actually wanted this.
He wanted a baby of their own. He wanted to be a daddy. He had everything else he never thought he would ever manage to get. A gorgeous husband, money, a career he had worked hard for. What he didn’t have was his health, and that was the biggest, most difficult roadblock he had continued to hit on his own. It was why he couldn’t go it alone any longer. He needed his soul mate and his partner in crime to try to get past this next bit; the bit he couldn’t shake for the life of him.
Fatherhood. And he wanted it with so much crushing yearning that it was now or never. And never suddenly seemed so much easier than now.
