"True love doesn't happen right away; it's an ever-growing process. It develops after you've gone through many ups and downs, when you've suffered together, cried together, laughed together." - Ricardo Montalban

This wasn't how the trip was supposed to go, and Lorenzo was driving himself nuts. It meant that, for all the tiredness he was feeling from the trip, he couldn't sleep. Instead, he was lying there stewing and overthinking, aka driving himself nuts. Lewis wasn't a cheater. He wasn't. That wasn't just some deluded hope in Lorenzo's mind. He knew cheating went against every single thing Lewis stood for, and the things Lewis stood for, he stood firm on. Very firm. His views, morals, and beliefs were always something he never let anyone sway him on.

So, why was Lorenzo lying there driving himself nuts? Probably because he had just seen another dude snogging his husband, and not he felt like he wanted to hit things. Even after he hit the guy in the face for doing it. He at least felt entitled to that. That was proof in the pudding. It wasn't overreacting. Another guy had macked on his husband! Zander. He knew that name, but he just couldn't remember from where Lewis had mentioned it. Somewhere along the way, he had. But 'the way' for Lorenzo and Lewis had been a long, hard road.

Beside him on the king-sized hotel bed, Lewis was stripped down to just his boxer-briefs. He had his back to Lorenzo, having rolled over in annoyance after he tried to get Lorenzo to talk to him about what had just happened and Lorenzo kept issuing en epic dose of the silent treatment to him. Lewis had rolled over with growl of annoyance and told him to wake him up when he was ready to talk. It was probably a good idea neither of them inflicted themselves on anyone else until they got some rest after the nightmare flight. The anger was going to still keep bubbling away if they didn't rest first. Lorenzo didn't want to ruin shit for Clint and Lincoln.

Lewis had fallen asleep quickly. Even though Lorenzo didn't dare move too much on the bed to check he really was asleep, he could tell by Lewis' deep and even breathing that he wasn't awake. Since they first met, he had become familiar with every inch of Lewis, including how his breathing sounded when he slept. Beside Lewis, Holly was sprawled on her back with her little hands above her head. It was a comfortable temperature in the room, so she was down to her diaper and pink lacy undershirt with matching socks, daisy pacifier in her mouth. Lewis' hand was resting on gently on her belly. She had settled right down beside him, crashing out from exhaustion. Lorenzo did take a tiny peek at their daughter to make sure she was settled. That was as far as he dared to move.

He just couldn't sleep himself. It was just hanging over his head that Lewis hadn't told him about having cancer. But as soon as he wondered what else Lewis might not have told him, he was immediately beating himself up mentally for thinking dumb things. No, he didn't know everything about Lewis and Lewis' past, but Lewis had never been forcefully secretive with him. It wasn't like that. Of course he wouldn't be cheating. How was he supposed to cheat when this guy was in London, anyway? Unless the guy was taking trips over...

"Fuck," he mumbled and planted his hands over his face. He was being so stupid, and he knew it. It was a kiss, that had taken Lewis by surprise. They didn't mount each other in the foyer and fuck each other into the middle of next week. He pressed the heels of his hands into his tired, stinging eyes and lay there like that for a brief while. As he lay there, he started to think back over their relationship, right back to the first moment he met Lewis. Shit, had they been to hell and back. Even through all the horrible shit that came to them, they stuck together. Lewis was a rock. He was his rock.

Then the guilt started to trickle through. He had overreacted, but he still felt he had every right to be pissed off. Lewis' lips weren't a fucking free-for-all. Neither was any other part of him. His hands came down, coming to be rested atop his chest. Turning his head on the pillow, his eyes swept over Lewis' back, watching the rise and fall of his chest as he slept. Lewis wasn't a snorer. He was a calm sleeper, just like he was calm awake. Eventually after the horrible ordeal he had been through that caused anxiety, panic attacks and nightmares, he had returned to his old self. Not even then had he been a snorer.

Lorenzo exhaled heavily and then carefully rolled over onto his side. As he moved in closer to Lewis, he tucked his hand under his arm and cuddled up close to his back. The movement and the touch must have pulled Lewis out of his deep sleep. He half woke up with a sleepily mumbled, "Hm? Y'okay?" He lifted his head from the pillow to look over his shoulder to where Lewis was.

"I'm okay. Go back to sleep," Lorenzo coaxed and pressed a kiss to Lewis' shoulder. Lewis had barely woken and didn't need to be asked twice. His head dropped back to the pillow and his eyes closed. As he did, he felt out Lorenzo's hand under his arm and rested his over it, holding it softly. He dozed back off like that. That small, automatic gesture from his husband, Lorenzo knew he had just been driving himself nuts for no reason.

Where his hand was, though, his fingertips brushed over the scar at the side of Lewis' torso. That was the only reminder he needed that sweating the small stuff was stupid. They were stronger and more resilient than that. Lewis had stared death in the face a few times and he was not only still here, but he chose Lorenzo. Lorenzo owed it to him to not be a dumb bitch and jump to selfish conclusions. He could blame a way too early morning, a screaming baby, travel, or any other number of things on his fowl mood and quick temper, but really, when it boiled down, all he could blame was fear of losing Lewis, and ever having to be without him again.
