Zed had never been this sick in his life. All for making a stupid mistake. He was also being sorely tempted to make another stupid mistake because he was really wanting to just quit these goddamn post-exposure pills that were making him feel like death. The only thing stopping him was that he would probably get an epic mom smack in the head by Karla if he stopped them. Though, by this point, and feeling like he did, the defeatist emotions were kicking in and he was wondering if there was a point. Were they going to help, or was it inevitable that he was now Positive.

( That was the part he knew he had to try to think through, but his head was feeling like his skull was smashed and he was living on sips of water and nothing else... )

Cassandra will never tell anyone this, but she wants to protect Alex. In such a short time, she's already become somewhat fond of him - his desire to do good, his tenacity, his sense of humor that entertains her even though she has to hide it. She wants to see him do well. And she feels an obligation to Ginny; all she can do for her late friend is to help the man she loved. Cassandra knows Alex will never feel anything kind for her. He considers her part of The House, the lesser of two evils. But that won't keep her from wanting to protect him, even if he throws her through that window in the end.

If there was one thing on earth that drove Emily absolutely bat shit insane, it was when Clint was right and she was wrong. She liked to think it didn’t happen too often, though her darling husband would protest that with every fiber of his being, and at the root of it, he wouldn’t be wrong on that, either. Clint was, for all his annoying bits, incredibly smart and he did have a good heart. Being a manwhore didn’t change that side of him in the slightest.
