Reecy boarded a plane in Sydney after 10pm to fly home to New York. She had no plans of leaving until more dust had settled, but it was Justin who told her to go. No matter how sick that boy was, he still had the ability to care about other people. Sitting by the pool with him, he took one look at her and asked her why she was being weird. She couldn't lie to him. Not when he had confided so much in her lately, and she was trying to offer him a lifeline should he ever need it. She 100% meant her offer to become his primary carer, and she would make whatever sacrifices is took to be able to take it on. He had blocked her at the first hurdle, though. It was too soon for her to know if that was Justin his exacerbated mental state talking, or if he wasn't at a point where he was ready to set too many changes in motion.

( It had been a long flight, but it gave her plenty of time to think. As tired as she was, she didn't sleep. She did cry. She let herself feel the pain without a barrier, and she grieved... )
