093.1. Muse Prompt (Lyrics)

"It's OK 'cause I know
You shine even on a rainy day and
I can find your halo
Guides me to wherever you fall
If you need a hand to hold
I'll come running, because
You and I won't part till we die
You should know
We see eye to eye, heart to heart."

• Heart to Heart, James Blunt

There had to have been other brides somewhere, sometimes, that pretty much cried through their entire wedding. It wasn't the best look in the world, but in the future, looking back at all the amazing photos and video, Rose would emphatically blame residual hormones. She had cried a lot, on and off, for almost a week but these tears were different. These were tears when she was literally speechless with shocked surprise, knowing once she arrived at Jane's Carousel with her dad and Daisy in her arms that Angel, in all of four days, had pulled off this entire event just to make it special for her.

Confusion had been the first thing she was feeling. The car was driving them in a completely different direction from City Hall. Luckily, she was pretty smart when she needed to be (she was a fully qualified Doctor of Pharmacy, after all), and she realised that Angel had probably set something up as a surprise. She had literally been completely oblivious to anything going on. As soon as she got there, in the amazing and stunning unconventional wedding dress Austin had designed for her, the tears were flowing.

There were people there. Her people. Family, friends, people she needed in her life just to be able to exist. This wasn't going to be a quickie City Hall wedding. Arriving at the carousel was what opened the floodgates on her tears. This was one of the places they came that night of their first date, and it was where they both wanted to bring Daisy for her first official outing in this big wide world. It had a huge place in their hearts, and Angel knew it. That was why the need for words that wouldn't be enough anyway gave way to her getting into a teary mess from the get-go.

Thankfully, Lewis was a fantastic makeup artist and he had pre-empted this particular challenge so the makeup wasn't running all over the place despite the waterfall of tears. They just got worse as soon as she neared the carousel and spotted Angel standing there. Daisy was already reaching out in his direction with a happy squeal of 'Dada!' and doing that awkward twisty wiggle thing babies did when they were trying to acrobat their way out of your arms.

Without even thinking about it, Rose was running up to Angel... at least, as well as anyone could run in a long dress, heels and with a baby in your arms. This wasn't how it was supposed to play out, but since when did they do anything the traditional way? None of this was really about the wedding. Rose wasn't the sort to bridezilla out and demand everything be all about her. She didn't care for flashing the cash and bigger is better. This was her perfect in every single way. It was so simple, but beautiful. Angel knew her better than she would ever know herself.

She got to him and threw her free arm around him to kiss him. She was crying into the kiss and it didn't have remotely any iota of celeb glam style to it. It was a miracle she didn't trip in those heels that matched the dress perfectly. Daisy was dressed in an Austin Shaw couture design of her own in a purple silk dress with daisies scattered all over it, and a matching daisy headband. Rose's hand was looped around Angel's neck as she just held him, resting her forehead against his with a soft sob because she was overwhelmed with how incredibly lucky she was to be marrying this beautiful, amazing man. She couldn't just shed the pain she had been in this past week, it didn't work like that. But this was reminding her why it was all worth it.

It was a simple ceremony, and Rose cried through the whole thing. She was just grateful she had been able to tone herself back to just tears spilling all over the place and not outright ugly sobbing. She wasn't alone. Her family were right there with her, and Angel was teary-eyed himself. Beside him, Austin was sobbing elaborately because he was always the one for the dramatic flare, and this wouldn't have played out any other way.

Then all of a sudden, just like that, she was a married woman. She was a wife. Angel was kissing his bride. They had wedding rings on their fingers, and it had really happened. Even if the path to this was long, hard, and rocky, Rose knew that with how quickly and determinedly Angel pulled all this together for her, he, in every way, lived up to his name.
